The Lightspeed Film Exhibition is dedicated to celebrating and elevating the vibrant community of Canadian short filmmakers on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Our mission is to create an inclusive and inspiring platform that showcases locally made films on the big screen, fosters creative connection, and brings together audiences who value bold, original storytelling. By spotlighting emerging and established local talents, we aim to strengthen the Island’s film culture, support artistic growth, and build momentum for the next generation of local filmmakers. Participation also offers filmmakers the opportunity for IMDb-qualifying theatrical screenings, industry recognition, and increased exposure within both the local arts community and beyond.
